DOLLAR WAR MONUMENT,  2009

According to Congressional Research Services concerning
the amount of money spent on the war in Iraq and
Afghanistan, the following sums have been calculated as
of March, 29, 2011:  $806 billion for Iraq; $444 billion for
Afghanistan; $29 billion for enhanced security and $6
billion of unallocated funds.

DOLLAR WAR MONUMENT is in response to this astronomical
expenditure. The forms of two soldiers aiming weapons at
each other have been cut out of the currency and folded
down to represent their deaths. The open holes that remain
deface the U.S. dollar bill just as the money spent for these
wars maims our economic and moral stability.
